Ceri is an experienced and passionate primary care leader, currently serving as Managing Partner at Hereford Medical Group (HMG), a role he has held since 2022.
His career in health began after graduating with a First-Class BEng in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southampton in 1997. He spent seven years with Boots Opticians (1997–2004) before moving into the NHS in 2004, where he worked in hospital general management at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend.
Since 2006, he has focused on primary care, first spending 5 years managing complaints and patient feedback about Primary Care for 6 Local Health Boards across South Wales. As a result of restructuring, Ceri moved to Cwm Taf Health Board in 2011 where he joined the service improvement team, eventually heading up the team covering patient complaints, claims and patient safety incidents.
In 2013, Ceri became the Practice Manager of Sarum House Surgery in Hereford. He led the successful merger of five practices, including Sarum House, to create HMG in 2018. Alongside his Director role at the IGPM, Ceri is the national LGBTQ+ lead for the IGPM, advocating for inclusive practices across general practice settings. He is also the Practice Manager Lead for Herefordshire, supporting innovation, quality improvement, and collaboration across the region.
Ceri brings a systems-thinking approach to operational leadership, service improvement, and patient-centred transformation. Outside of work, Ceri enjoys walking, music, travelling, and helps to organise the local community cinema where he lives.
