Five years ago, we launched ‘If I Die It Will Be Your Fault’ campaign, shining a spotlight on the abuse experienced by practice staff and calling for greater awareness and support. While that campaign resonated across primary care, reports of verbal abuse, threats and even physical assaults against practice teams continue to make the headlines today.
Practice Index and the IGPM are seeking to understand what life on the front line really looks like in 2026.
We’re launching a survey to hear directly from Practice Managers about the challenges their teams face. We want to understand if abuse is getting worse (or not), the types of abuse practices are experiencing, what’s driving it, the impact it’s having on staff and the steps practices are taking to respond.
The findings will form the basis of a new in-depth report, bringing together original survey data, insights from Practice Managers, industry perspectives and practical guidance to help practices tackle this increasingly important issue.
If you’re a Practice Manager, we’d really value a few minutes of your time. Whether abuse is something your practice deals with regularly or only occasionally, every response will help to build a clearer picture of the challenges facing general practice today.
Complete the survey here.
Closing date 11th September 2026.
